HI again NEASTers – it’s that time again, for your weekly update from NEAST HQ! We’re mid way through September and busy busy as always – no rest for the awesome!
The very sweet little staffy Candy was finalised this week, and has found her forever home ❤ This means we have NO ONE out on trial at the present – ALL our little furry friends are available for adoption! And all deserve their forever homes 😦
For this reason… we have decided that in order to clear the decks a little ready for the pending kitten season, we have reduced the adoption fee on the cats and cattens we have available at present. This is great news for anyone who has been thinking about adopting, because at this price the sanctuary is taking quite a loss – our pain is your gain! All of our furry friends have had their neutering and microchipping done, all are wormed and flea treated, and everyone has had a minimum of their first vaccination – some are fully vaccinated. We are super keen to get these guys into the homes they deserve, so if someone in particular has caught your eye in the past an you’ve been thinking about it for awhile, this might just be the sign you need to adopt! (Please note: this is for the felines only!)
Sadly, Ellen has returned to the sanctuary as her trial didn’t work out – it turns out Ellen is perhaps not best suited to a family with a dog! She was a bit dominant with the family dog, and her trial family were very sad to return her – they loved her loving nature, but their poor doggie didn’t appreciate her company so much. We thank them for trialing her, and carry on the search for Ellens perfect home!
This week we have also welcomed in Max, and are taking expressions of interest. Max is the littermate of Roxie, a pup we have rehomed previously. Max looks very kelpie, and we have been told his parentage is border collie x shih tzu. He is 7 months old and happy to place nicely with other dogs. He will require a home with good fencing, and someone willing to put in the effort required to own a dog with a working breed background – this means lots of mental stimulation and appropriate exercise, as these breeds have lots of energy and are generally quite active. We’re looking forward to getting to know him better, which will assist us on finding him the perfect home!
In building news… Michelle and Tara held a mini working bee today, and started on the big job of lining out the external area beside the new cattery. At present this area holds SO MUCH POTENTIAL! and we’re not quite sure what this is going to become yet – watch this space! Also, Geoff the electrician popped in to work on getting the power to the new cattery – we hope he was impressed with all our hard work over the last two weeks of filling in the trench!
Our sales for the sanctuarys 2018 calendars has been so successful that we’ve been able to order in even more! So we still have some available for those who missed out the first time – contact us if you are keen! Only $23 to suppose our efforts, and enjoy adorable faces for the entire year ❤ We’ve also released our branded magnets and bumper stickers available for sale, and have started working out supporter packages that will net you all three items, a monthly newsletter and more! More details to come!
So that’s all that we’ve been up to at NEAST HQ… we hope you and all your two and four (or none!) legged families are keeping safe and well ❤
