Weekly Wrap Up #13

Well! NEASTers! The number 13 may be unlucky for some, but the week leading up to our wrap up #13 has been very very good to us here at NEAST HQ!

Firstly, thank you so much to everyone who was able to come see us at the Scottsdale Show – we loved meeting everyone, and it was fantastic to put some names to faces. We hope you all had a wonderful day out at the show – Tassie are losing too many of these events these days, and it was great to see both the show and NEAST being supported. You guys are legends! And to anyone who is reading this blog for the first time after discovering the sanctuary at the show – welcome!

We had a terrific two days at the show! Our little cuties Lexie and Finn made their way off to their trials with two fantastic new owners, and Leos meet was also successful on Thursday which means our first litter to come in for kitten season 2017 have (hopefully!) already found their forever homes. That was quick!

And in SUPER exciting news, Ellen and Theo have both left us to go on trial from the show too! Ellen has been with us for some time, and after two failed attempts we’re very excited that it could be third time lucky for her. Theo is our little pocket rocket, small in size but big in personality. Fingers crossed they both have found their forever homes!

Of course, we still have kittens available for viewing, and they will be available for adoption as soon as they’re big enough. In fact we’ve taken in another four little sweethearts, who are super tiny (four weeks!) after their mum rejected them and they too will be available in good time. We’re very happy to take expressions of interest now, though so if you’re keen – let us know!

And finally (on the adoption front anyway) Sammy the Siamese is having a meet on Friday for a potential new home, now that his dental work has been completed (poor Sammy! At least it’s done now). We’ve had a bit of interest in him, and we’ve worked hard to ensure that we’re getting the perfect fit for him, due to his age and potential age related issues. We’re confident that this meet will be perfect for him!

Of course, our vets bills for Sammy and his beagley buddies Sally and Louie have continued to creep up. The golden oldies are proving to be an expensive crew to get adoption ready! But primarily it’s one-off stuff, so the new owners won’t have to worry about it again. We have now got a gofundme page set up to try and raise a little more towards their vets bills, if any of our NEASTers or anyone else is keen to support what we’re doing for these guys, we’d super appreciate it! https://www.gofundme.com/sally-louie-and-sammys-vet-work

Due to the Scottsdale show and builder availability, we have no news to report on the building projects – hopefully next weekend! It’s been a hectic week or organisation leading up to the show, but we’ll be back into it ASAP!

And finally, one for our St Helens and surrounds NEASTers – if you’re keen to involve your pets in your Christmas celebrations this year, you can dress up and join us in the St Helens Christmas Parade on the 24th December, 5pm-8pm! Entry per dog is $15 with all funds raised going towards us here at the sanctuary, so dress up and join in on the fun! Check out last years enthusiastic parade pooches and their people…

Finally, we still have some of our fundraising goodies available leftover from the show – if you’re interested in snapping up one of our remaining 2018 wall calendars, some of our Aussie made and owned, skin friendly goat soap, and our bumper stickers, magnets etc… now’s the time! Excellent stocking fillers for the animal lovers in your life!

Until next time NEASTers… take care and keep your eye on our Facebook page – we’ll have some adorable faces to show you soon!
