Weekly update #11!

Hello again NEASTers – gosh it’s been a big few days at NEAST HQ again, which is a sentence we just love to write!

First up, we received confirmation that our lovely Puddins trial has been officially finalised and she’s now left us for her forever home! Now  to find homes for her brothers Jasper and Theo! Thanks so much to Puddins new owners for supporting an animal welfare rescue!

And after successful meets, our cutie Max has gone out on trial with a lovely couple, and the stunning Sophia has gone on trial with a lovely family of Maine Coon fans! Fingers and paws crossed they’ll fit seamlessly into their fur families and they’ll love them as much as we at NEAST do! And in more potential rehoming news, Felicity has a trial coming up this week too – could we go for the trifecta? Lets hope so!

So we are already calling our new November offer a win: adopt any of our adult/last season kittens for a mere $100, and help us get them into great new homes and make room in the sanctuary for new intakes!

Rehoming news is always welcome, but especially so right now as this week will be bringing us our very first litter for this kitten season. It has been a late start compared to last year, but for those NEASTers who are keen to adopt but want a baby kitten, watch this space – some incoming little cuties super soon! You’ll see their pics on Facebook this week coming. Lets hope that we can successfully home these little bundles of fluff ASAP, and ensure lots of room to take in any others that come our way.

This week also found us here at NEAST being contacted by Kodi’s Army, who were seeking assistance in a very sad situation. A woman had passed away unexpectedly and left behind her four pet dogs, a large number of cats (both domestic and strays that she has been feeding and trying to take care of) and some birds. We were able to lend and hand and took in Teddy the Pomeranian, and in the upcoming days we will also be meeting and assessing the remaining two dogs (the forth, a poodle was returned to its breeder for rehoming) and two siamese cats.

Teddys arrival into our care came with great delight and a lot of attention… as Teddy was ONE OF THE CUTEST LITTLE DOGS YOU’D EVER WISH TO MEET. Teddy is such a delight to know, that the lovely woman Karen who picked him up to transport him to his new foster carer fell in love with him so quickly that she is now trialing him with intent to keep – the worlds quickest rehome? We think so!

We thank each and every single person who contacted us offering to adopt Teddy, and the Kodi’s Army supporters who wished to donate money to his ongoing care! The support was wonderful to see, and very heart warming.

And what we know you’re all waiting for… working bee update! This weekend saw Tara, Michelle, Lexie, Noel and myself get stuck into the architraves on the new windows in the cattery, hanging the last of the plaster sheets and then the commencement plastering up both the quarantine and cattery. Messy work that no one really likes, but still big steps towards completion! Everything is really starting to come together at last – we’re a bit behind schedule but we are really getting somewhere!

And finally, our raffle books have started popping up out in the wild… well, in BEGENTS SCOTTSDALE and ROSES NEWSAGENCY SCOTTSDALE anyway. We will be updating the list in the next week, but they’ll be popping up in Winnaleah, Ringarooma and Georgetown soon!

I hope all NEASTers are keeping well and enjoying this lovely weather we’ve been having! We look forward to seeing you soon!
