Wow, I feel like I only just wrote the WWU #6… where did that week go?
First up, some excellent news to follow up on last weeks wrap up – Peppers meet up with the family dogs went super well, and she is now out on trial! Good luck to our beautiful girl! And also, our little rehome assist Edgar is having a meet this coming week – thanks so much to everyone who expressed an interest in him, there seemed to be an endless supply of people who could offer him a wonderful home!
And as it goes in the rescue business, our revolving door kept twirling this week and we welcomed Colin! Colin is a stray that wanted to move in with one of our supporters in Branxholm – he was not chipped and our efforts advertising him sadly haven’t resulted in his owner stepping up. We’re still hoping to reunite them, but for now Colin is enjoying his time with us and should no owner step up, he’ll be going up for adoption.
This week also bought the announcement of the details of our Scottsdale drop off point for food etc donations! Yay! The wonderful Ruth at Begents has kindly offered to take our trusty basket and collect donations on our behalf – thanks so much! Ruth is also supporting us in another way that will become more obvious soon… secret secret! Watch this space Scottsdale!
Good news for the NEAST supporters from last year who may be wondering about when our annual raffle will be launched. The answer is VERY SOON. This year our prizes include a photography package, another awesome norwex cleaning package, a tattoo voucher, an accommodation package, and of course, what animal sanctuary would be complete without a prize of a dog bed? We’ll let you know how to buy tickets super soon!
Of course, this weekend we were able to have yet another working bee, which was SUPER constructive – things are really starting to come together! This week we installed one of two window as well as our external door, we finished lining the outdoor area and got the first coat of paint on that, and lastly we built and installed a screen door for an alcove in kitten corner which enables us to have a larger area that we can use for our shy kitties who find mingling with the other cats a bit intimidating.
We’re finding that our Friends of NEAST packages (which you can read about by clicking that link!) is gathering momentum! We’re nearly ready to write our inaugural monthly newsletter, which will be sent out to all Friends of NEAST – exciting times! And we’ve started gathering our plaques for our Friends which will be displayed on the wall of our new cattery once we’ve finished painting, and they look AWESOME. The only way to get on this wall is to sign up as a Friend of NEAST, so if you want your name up for all the kitties to see, hop to it!
If becoming a Friend of NEAST isn’t really your scene but you still want a calendar, they’re still available – but in very limited numbers!
That’s it from us at NEAST HQ for another week NEASTers, we hope you’re all keeping healthy and happy – keep an eye on our Facebook page and we’ll see you again next week!
